I'm looking for the FLASHIEST high-power powder for the 10mm Auto. Just for "fun and show" shooting.
It has to be something able to provide good bullet speed, like the VV N105 or the IMR 800X.

I heard that one of the flashiest is the Alliant Blue Dot. Is it true? Does anyone have better answers?

thank you guys :)

That's what they say about Blue Dot and I use a lot of it...
However they say Power Pistol has a bright white flash to it...

I haven't taken any pics of my loads to see, but I like the performance/accuracy/clean burns I get with these powders.

Blue dot.

It can't really propel bullets as fast as the slower powders, but big blast it does make!

This avatar pic is a video capture image of a 155gr. xtp max (or close to book max) of blue dot loaded up with cci 350s (which of course would probably put it over SAAMI pressure - don't go with magnum primers while using blue dot - case ruptures will start to occur - as they did on these loads.

Nothing like Blue Dot getting lit off in a dark indoor range :). 4th of July.

is that with any blue dot load? I have more 350CCI primers than 300 CCI But I might have to save the 300 primers for the bluedot loads.

Definitely blue dot. Not only does it throw a nice fireball, it is loud as hell too. It is a relatively strong performer as well.

Yup. I would save the 300s for the blue dot. I've tried the 350s, and like others I experienced some problems with the combination ("smileys" so they are called - case rupture fractures) - this has only been in the stock glock barrel though - and it's lacking some case support.

I have some pictures of those on here somewhere. One step past that is a busted magazine and possibly a thrown extractor.

It is probably wise to back off when these symptoms show.

Blue Dot x2. Awesome blast out of the 10mm and 9x25.

A second candidate? Here in Italy I can't find Blue Dot... :(

What about:

Accurate #9
IMR Hi-Skor 800X

?

Of the two, 800x is flashier. One of the reasons that I like A9 is its relatively low flash. 800x has a pretty good bark too when loaded with large charges behind light projectiles.

I've loaded blue dot in .45 ACP, it throws bright fire rings at the indoor range !!
