It looks like it might have been lifted for the agency, since they changed back to the old way of hiring. They were hiring individually by institution for a while.

Interesting.

Yeah, I have been there. There is nothing like staying up for a couple of days and while you are driving with coffee in your cup in one hand and the other hand on the wheel doing the head bang against the seat thing, or hanging out in a cool breeze just to wake up enough to get home.

I've completely fallen asleep at the wheel twice. Once was comming home from the academy. I was awaken the rumble strips as I drifted off into the median. Thankfully I was on a long straight stretch. The other time I was waken up as I brushed a neighbors landscaping on my street after a long midnight shift....:wow: You can't live or at least function safely on 4-6 hours of random sleep for long periods. :wow:

Yep. Bad stuff happens if that happens and you are not aware of it. I was lucky and would not advise it for anyone. I am thinking it is safer than it used to be, but there were companies at one time practically encouraged their drivers to run ragged. I am pretty sure that the one I worked for was one of those, although they would not tell you to. It was things that they did not say along with, "The load was due to be picked up yesterday and needs to be there by *** and so on and so forth. That is why at truck stops things like phone recorders are common, especially if you can use it on the cell phone. Then there are those companies who actually equip their drivers with satellite fed MDT and such like, but they are the big name companies with the money for it.

well that was a short working day. only 20mintes.

First stop and the first thing that happend was, me and my partner getting hit by a car (mostly me) while crossing a side street (on foot).

I looked over my left shoulder, seeing a car coming. But she didn't used the turn signal so I thought she would stay on the main road.

Maybe because of the low sun or distraction she did't saw us and turned into the side street hitting me with her fender.

Nothing bad, only a blunt trauma on my thigh a few bruises an scratches from falling down.

Partner got just a few bruises because I knocked him off his feed while falling.

Just got back from the hospital. I'm on sick leave for 2 weeks.

time to use one of these magic pills I got from the doctor to get some sleep.

One of the benefits of working for that state, eh? That is, starting rookies from scratch. That is one of the reasons why BOP likes to hire from other agencies at to their work experience and skills. Although we do get those without any correctional experience at all, via VRA and the like. It seems that military experience helps a little bit, depending on their skill and training.

On one hand it shows how hard it is to meet people in a city, because you barely know the name of your neighbour, on the other hand it should be good, because a lot of single girls... well its not working out, 9 out of 10 have enough reasons to stay single

if you arent born outside Vienna or have relatives there (grandparents, parents) to sleep at from time to time, its very unlikely to meet girls from there. Usually it only happens on coincidence when they are partying in Vienna or studying.
Dont know why, but as soon as you cross the city border and public transport isnt arriving every 5 or only ever 30 min to 1 hour or even less, its a different world and there is not much connection to.

On another subject: I felt like I needed something totally different for a good dinner today. I had Indian food buffet. Not only did it taste good and I was satiated right after, it has kept me going for most of the day. Decent.

Now, I have to get to working off the weight, (which means staying away from all you can eat).

By the way, has anyone ever had an area wear in such a way on your bod from carrying IWB that you had to just change up or literally wear a sore spot in yourself. I have had that happened within the last month. It is rather uncomfortable.

Doesn't matter if she lost a bet or not. An intro class is just that. It's not meant to weed students out of a rigorous program. Those students need to be able to focus on what they are majoring in.

Mine was in relation in to how pressure was being exerted on the opposite side where an area of my trouser belt resides. It was just all of sudden there one week and I am thinking possibly diabetic related, so keep a watch on it. Well a few days later it was an open wound, and I am thinking not good at all. So, now I am using tough strips, and an anti-infective on it, or a homoeopathic ointment to keep things in check. That in itself seems to be working, although slowly. It is kind of weird how all of a sudden that kind of thing just shows up. First thing I was thinking was, "How in the heck did MRSA get there?", but it was not showing the classic symptoms of it. Good thing there are tough strips, as they work real well, as they are the easy version of using mole skin.

Sorry for your loss Woofie.

Over all it's been a craptacular week so far: school, sick kids, close to home EOW, wife is bummed about not getting a promotion, mom having some health issues. At least its not snowing.

I'm done whining, now off for more 4th amendment fun!

Well, it looks like I'm making a new addition to the family. Getting a dog from the rescue program at work. He appears to be a full-blood English Foxhound, from apparently one of the best bloodlines. They rescued him from abuse and neglect in Harlan County; he was emaciated, and had buckshot in his ears when they got him. Surprisingly, with all the hell he's been through, he still has the sweetest disposition I've ever seen on a dog!

time to party today. On the aternoon with my family and during night with my friends. Booked a table at Tgi Fridays and then we are going to a club. Guess it will be fun, I expected to go to a steak restaurant with two friends, but now we are ten people. Very cool.

So far I have not seen any news media releases concerning what happened, therefore I am concerned as to whether I can release any information to the public. For now I will say he was a fellow CO who died while in training due to stroke, or heart attack. I think he was around 38. I will keep what information I have here, for now.

The rain has been killing me... the house is experiencing problems everywhere. The front of the house with the awning is all full of wood rot and a few beams split from the water damage. The back wrought iron fence rusted in a few spots, noticeably. One interior wall has water damage where the water came through because there was so much of it and caused the paint to swell and crack. That's just off the top of my head. Sure I can find more later today as I go through the house.

Some daring soul provided details to ODMP. I am not sure whom, but since I had not seen any other news media mention until this was done I was keeping it low key. Now, that it is ODMP I am guessing it is OK to post about it, so I finally gave it its own thread.

Thanks to those who already gave condolences here. I knew him somewhat, worked with him. He was a pretty good man for all intents and purposes. May he get to Heaven before the devil knows he is gone.:fallenofficer:

My favorite LGS has Federal XM193 .556 (Lake City as I recall) for $169 per 500. Its as good of deal as I've ever seen in person and not for off from on-line prices. Way cheaper than they Wally World Federal bulk pack .223 that I've been buy. Seems like a good price for quality ammo. What do you guys think?

I bought the loose box of 1000 rounds of federal xm193 for $300 from ammo bros locally when they went on sale. I think regular price is $330. Good stuff. Clean shooting and no malfunctions.

Oh, Molina, we had a guy get busted here because he would cruise over to the college student center and sit with re girls and just chat. People complained and that was the end of it. He is now a dispatcher somewhere else.

Well, that was random. I just got an email from BOP wanting me to submit some documents online. I tried following their directions, and couldn't figure it out, so I called the number listed at the bottom of the email. Turns out it's not national or regional personnel, but personnel for the local facility. I have an interview on Monday, completely and totally out of the blue!
