Hey all,
This is a long shot, but I am wondering if anyone has the new p220 compact (gen2)?
Now that they have done away with the beavertail, the p220 compact is just like the old p245!

I about wet myself when I saw them on Sig's website, and am adding one to my list of guns that I must obtain!

Any first-hand accounts would be appreciated (not sure if they are even shipping yet?)

Thanks!

Well....
just re-discovered this post that I wrote in Jan 2011, and now today...
I just won a GB auction for a new Sig P220 Compact SAS!

Already got leather on the way, slide glide, extra mags and 245 baseplate...

Will post a new thread when it all comes together!
Fun to see an old post about how badly I wanted a gun, only to finally have it!

I've shot the standard SAS Gen 2 220 carry. Super accurate and a pleasure to shoot. It's on a very short, "To get" list for me.

I've never shot the compact but know a fellow that carries one. To date he has close to 1,100 rounds through it without a single hiccup. It's foot print is a little less than the 220 carry.

As such, tt may be a little more concealable than the standard carry. (Not that the standard 220 carry is had to conceal) It fits my hand nice and the trigger is Sig sweet!

Congratulations on the new inbound gun!

What do you have coming in the way of leather?

I have a TT Gunleather IWB coming!
Love their stuff; sits nice and low with a great forward cant angle.
rides just behind the hip (how I prefer it)
Thanks for asking!
Will report back here when all is said and done!

Enjoy.

I have always been confused calling the P220 SAS compact - compact with a 3.9 inch barrel and 29.6 weight.

It's all in the short grip length!

Put 100 more rounds downrange this afternoon: no drama, no malfunctions, no problems.

strong brass ejection, accurate, great short trigger reset.

This pistol is a winner!

your enthusiasm for this pistol is infectious...I have a similar P245 and it is easier to carry than many pistols, accurate and compact in relation to the P220 and P220 Carry...enjoy and thanks for sharing yours...

I have been wanting to get the P220 SAS carry but wanted it in DAK. Just looking at this one makes me want it more.
