Anybody planning to pick up an LC9 when they come out? Looks like it might just be a little more substantial than the LCP.:dunno:

I am following the Ruger rule of thumb....
Let it cook for about 18 months THEN buy one.
I did that with the SR9 a few years back, and missed that whole recall thingy....

When they hit the stores, I will definitely be wrapping my meathooks around one...

I have mine as of Thursday afternoon. The grip is pretty slender. Upon taking it down, it is clear that the firearm was designed to function well. The rails are longer than Glocks and M&P. Going to the range this weekend to break it in.

I will wait until CT has a sight available for it. Even though this gun is obviously designed for firing at close range, I would still like to be able to hit a target beyond 10yds. Old eyes don't work well with iron sights any more. I love that they made the sights adjustable though. Will be looking forward to the range reports. Wife already says she wants one but recoil may be an issue.

I am very interested but will wait for at least a year. Hey, Ruger has a past history of recalls and I do not want to be involved. I will also check out the Sig P290 before any decision is made. Good luck to any members buying a currently released LC 9.

Looks like it has a mag disconnect safety and only comes with one mag. If that's the case I think I'll go with the Taurus Slim, two mags and no mag disconnect. I've shot one and really like it.

It's next on my list! As far as mag safety, and only one mag? Some firearms, even if they came with a drawer full of mags, I wouldn't buy another! I have more than a couple Rugers, including the new SR9C! Ruger has their stuff together, and hands down the best bang for your buck going. All that and American made. All pluses in my book!

Anybody have a chance to shoot theirs yet? What are the chances Ruger is going to chamber this in .40 next like Taurus did with the slim?

over 500 rounds and no problems. very accurate. Recoil is half of the P11 and is the same size. I love mine. it is in my front pocket right now with a pocket holster. I also have the SR9c and I like the Lc9 better.

I was prepared to not like my Ruger LC9. I guess it's kinda like a Glock in that it's plain Jane. The trigger is kinda long but after firing 100 trouble free rounds thru mine I am kinda really liking it. 50 of the rounds were steel cased russian too.

Dosn't seem like a substantial size decrease for the 3 rounds you lose over a G26. Slightly shorter barrel as well. Not to mention all the safeties.

Personally, ill pass. But I hope its a great gun!

Much easier to carry concealed than a Glock 26 or 27.

This girl i been seeing picked one up today. Just over a 100 rounds through it and was flawless. I only put 1 magazine through it and shoots it really nice. Trigger pull is long but smooth and is definitely something one can get used to. Going back to the range tomorrow to put some more rounds down the tube. Seems to be very accurate too.

I have 100 rounds Blazer Brass 115 (first outing), and 100 rounds Winchester Ranger 124 +P NATO, followed by 35 rounds 124+P HST (second outing) through mine. No malfunctions of any kind.

My only issue is that the handle is just plain mean. 100 rounds of standard pressure 115's drew blood on my base-of-thumb knuckle. Can pad the knuckle at the range, but thinking of having the offending edge radius-ed. Any suggestions?

I went to Bud's yesterday and bought a LC9. Now to find an extra mag.

Wait for the recall, it'll be like the LCP when they sent a magazine and hat for "our trouble".

Carry mine with the flat mag plate and 124 +P HST, so I practice with flat mag and Ranger 124 +P NATO (indoor range, FMJ only).

Yesterday's drill was one hand shooting, 100 rounds each hand, dominant first, then weak hand. 200 rounds in 30 minutes. Had a FTE with round no. 148, which was no. 48 with the left hand. Probably limp-wristed it. I know I was flinching. First and only malfunction. Anyway, shooting this gun with this load reminds me of my 2 3/4 inch Speed Six. It bites the hand that feeds it.

I've got 500 rounds through the little monster, and my only complaint is that the red 'Fire' flag for the thumb safety has disappeared somewhere along the way. Always hated decals. Should have been paint. But then the red paint is almost gone from the loaded chamber indicator.

That, and I haven't mastered the trigger. I practice combat shooting only, and I'm typically pulling the shot 3" or so southwest.

BTW, while all this gun's 'safety' devices may be unnecessary, none of them have prevented an 'intentional' firing.

I havent seen one at the local dealer yet. What kind of price are they going for?

A buddy of mine just bought one yesterday and paid $350 for it in Portland, OR.
Looking at the size comparison chart it is the same height as a Glock 26. I think I will just stick with my G26 as I am a lefty and don't want to mess with a right handed safety and a mag disconnect. Plus why would Ruger only include 1 mag?

100 Rounds NATO today. Found Little Monster's forte: One handed point shooting double taps at 12'. This thing points like my old model 49 Bodyguard with factory grips. Little Monster is DEADLY!

Much prefer the LC9 grip to the PM9. The little extra length makes it fit my hand like a custom. Pinky curls up and grabs some grip. Can't do that with the Kahr.

No malfunctions.

Well over 500 rounds with mine. So far zero malfunctions of any kind.

- hate the trigger (though it is noticeably lighter than my Glock)
- hate how it breaks down for cleaning. I will lose that stupid little steel rod piece
- love the sights
- love how it shoots
- love how it feels in my hand. It's as small as I will go while still being controllable and fun to shoot. I definitely shoot with the mag extension
- it feels surprisingly solid. I'm definitely a traditional "steel is better" kinda guy, and this gun feels surprisingly solid for its size and construction. I like how the slide doesn't ride on little mini posts or polymer rails.
- Like its quality. Looks much better made than a keltec.

Overall, I'm very pleased!

825 assorted(mostly cheap)flawless rounds through mine.Very accurate once you get used to that long trigger.Got mine in March, had to send it back to Ruger because it shot extremely low. They paid shipping and had it back in two weeks(replaced front sight). When I get around to it I'm gonna remove the magazine disconnect safety as has been done by many.(improves trigger some).

Got one last week and finally got to the range today. Put 137 various ball and personal defense rounds through it with not one problem. Carries nicely in my cargo short pocket or in one of my PM9 IWB holsters. Definitely a keeper and hope to add a big dot front night sight whenever they come out with one.

I was able to shoot the SR9 SR9C LCP and the LC9 at the range a couple of weeks ago. There were a group of guys and between all of them, they had all of those models and were willing to share with me. The trigger pull of the LC9 was quite long, but manageable. I did like the LC9 the best so I bought one. I shot about a 2" group at 7 yards with target ammo. I don't think you want one to use as a range gun shooting 2-300 rounds a day, but it's a great ccw gun and one I'm looking forward to carrying and shooting.

I took the LC9 to the range today. I only put fifty rounds through it. My initial impression is that the trigger will take some range time to master. It is a fun gun to shoot. At 25 yards, the accuracy does not even compare to my Glock 26, but the LC9 is so much more concealable, that I see a real need to practice with it.

The gun handles very well. I am very impressed with it, and so far, it has had no malfunctions. At some point, I will haul it to an indoor range and test it at seven yards, where I expect it to shine. I also fired it with two new magazines with no grip extensions. I'm pretty accustomed to firing supcompacts with no grip extensions, so I just curled my pinky finger under the gun and it presented no problems. I'll probably leave the grip extensions off these magazines, since they functioned fine. Your hands may be large enough so that you need the grip extensions.

I picked up a LC9 about a week and a half ago. So far I have 220 rounds through it, a couple of boxes each of Speer Lawman 124g and Federal 115g, and a box of Winchester PDX1. No failures yet. The trigger doesn't bother me at all, follow up shots aren't the fastest, but I seem to be at least as accurate as I am with my G19. I have to take them both out sometime and compare.

I have it in a Remora holster right now, got a Desantis sof-tuk on the way, along with 2 extra mags. Going to see what holster carries better, I don't have any problem with the Remora, just want to try another one out and see how it feels. I don't like the mag extension, it hits me in the middle of my ring finger, the flat floorplate feels nice.

Where did you get your extra mags from?

If Ruger or someone comes up with a way of easing up that trigger a little bit, I will like mine a LOT more. Right now mine is loaded up with Hornady Critical Defense rounds...

Ordered mine from Shopruger.com. I tried a few other places but they were either on backorder or shipping was a killer (wasn't cheap at shopruger either).

I tried Midway, they said on backorder until 10/21. So before I left for work on the 21st, I checked, and they said on backorder until sometime in the middle of November

Got my 2 spare mags, DeSantis SOF Tuk holster, and a couple of leatherman sheaths today. The gun carries very nicely in the holster, I have a Remora also, which is OK, but I like having it clipped onto myself.

The spare mag is a good fit in this sheath

Fits perfectly in this sheath
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002H49EO/ref=oh_o03_s00_i02_details

Problem with the 2nd one I didn't think of is the bottom is open, so you can see the bottom bullet in there (the opening in the middle of the bottom, and it's open on the bottom of the 2 sides, about the same height as the one in the middle). I could probably sew a piece in covering the openings and it would be perfect, but I'm lazy, so I'll just use the first one for now. It's a little bit tighter but will probably break in and loosen up.
