Springfield Milspec .45 back in 1991. Then got it enhanced (beavertail, safety), then added a comp, then rechambered in .38 super, then added a dot sight. Still have it today and use it for Steel Matches.

This gun has some mileage for sure.

Springfield GI SS. It was the first gun my wife bought me as well. I sold it to another officer and realized that I made a mistake. I bought it back and now it's S.A. Custom shop.

Springfield GI. 4.25" Had a crap finish from the factory, had it refinished, and shot it for a bit, It consistantly flung the empties back in my face, sold it off.
Then had a RIA Officers.
Now have a SW 1911.

First was a Para Ord P14 Limited. Never did run reliably, so I sold it.

The one I've had the longest is a Les Baer Premier II 1.5", which I've had for about 10 years. It's only had 2 malfunctions in a decade, and is just as accurate now as it was the day I took it home. The finish is getting pretty thin in places, but that just adds to the charm for me.

I buy trucks, boats, motorcycles, guns, etc and never hear a peep from my wife. Her one and only rule is no more Kimbers in this house. She really thinks my new TRP is "pretty".

Thats like a Ferrari for your first car!!!

Anyway, mine was a Springfield Mil-spec stainless. It caught my eye on the internet and was what really got me into handguns. I overpaid for a used one at Gander Mountain. Idiot scratches and light finish scratches all over the gun. Runs 100% and its nice having a 1911 that you don't have to worry about damaging.
