Grip safety & hammer follow Q's

Have a few questions.
I recently picked up a Springfield GI that has had some work.

Function checked today,....it's got issues.

A. Grip safety is in opperable, trigger pull drops the hammer without using the
grip safety.

B. Hammer follows the slide forward.


Could these be related to a bad spring?
What to look at? Where to start?

Check the sear spring.
