Its been a long time since I've owned a 1911. Mainly because of financial reasons. I have tried to get buy with cheaper guns but there is no substitute for a good 1911. So, I have been saving for a few months and sold my Glock 36 the other day so I can buy an STI Escort. I should have enough money within the next few weeks to buy the gun which brings me to the reason for this post. I was thinking if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a gun I might as well get some custom grips for it. I would like to get a celtic cross on one panel and an american flag on the other. The only grips I have found that can do that is Alumagrips and they would run about $100. Is there any other company that will engrave pictures on grips. If not what's another hundred bucks right?

Esmeralda has a Celtic cross but not an American flag. You might shoot em email to see if they'll do it for you.
There's plenty of great choices for 1911 grips.

WOW, those are some nice looking grips. I checked out Esmeralda's the other day but missed the ones with the cross. A quick google search found some nice pics of them though. Sarge's are very nice to. I've always thought the wood one's look better than all the others . And here I thought picking out the gun was the hard part. At least I have some time to figure it out. Thanks guys.
Here is a pic of Sarge's grips I just got from him a couple of weeks ago...covered in Anaconda...great work..

I truly and GREATLY appreciate the support gentlemen, but the goal is to get the person what they want in the end and make them happy. With this in mind, I have to defer to Esmerelda on this one. She is set up in shop for routing work on the grips, I am not. I can get it done, but it would be more costly in the end for the customer. She does great work as shown in another active thread here. While I believe we both have our strong points, I believe her routing ability in house will do the best job for the customer in this case.
Again, thank you very much for the kind words! I appreciate it.

It is nice to see not only an honest businessman but one that would refer a customer to his competition. Thank you sir. :wavey:

Talking to Ryan a bit offline, I will honestly say not only does he build fantastic grips, but he is an even better guy. Very genuine, and completely honest.
