I don't have a 1911 presently, but when I do get the one I want, I will get some of those VZ grips with thumb indentions. They seem like a great idea to reach the mag release easier. My Glocks have it and I like it.

I guess after I shoot a match in the morning I'll know for sure.

Shot a borrowed 1911 with them last weekend, and really liked the control.

They sure enough don't move around in your hand.:wow:

Looks good. Shouldn't have any trouble reaching mag release.

How do you like the operator grips? I have a couple sets of Aliens and a set of Gator backs and love the feel of them.

Only shot one mag with them last weekend.

Match tomorrow, so the jury's still out.

The VZ's look good. I don't think I could use any other grip.

G-10 is the only way to go in my opinion. I have never found a wood grip that is as aggressive. If I did, I may switch a few over but until then I'll stick with VZ's and Gunner's

It's amazing how much grips can change a 1911...kinda like getting a new gun!

I have found some wood full checkered grips to be aggressively checkered (my preference) but G-10 gets the nod for all out toughness and ability to resist chemicals...

Hey, go with what works.

I get teased for having pachmeyers on my Brown and Custom Shop Springer - but hey.... I like them the best after trying numerous types of grips...

Yeah, and then you can change them back after a while and have another new gun.
I go through that once in a while.

I have some custom Esmareldas on order... cant wait to see how they turn out. I agree a new set of grips is like getting a new gun!
