My STI Escort should be here next week  and I just wanted to see what kind of holsters you guys are using for your compact 1911. I usually carry IWB, but I was thinking that with such a short barrel that I might want to go outside the pants. So, whatcha got?

You're gonna get a LOT of variety....and a lot of Sparks VM2.

I have been using a Supertuck for almost a year now, I do not find it to be that harsh on the finish of my carry gun.. Then again its a Kimber so I aint too concerned about keeping it pretty.. but as for comfort level, after extended wear I forget it is there.. I find it that comfortable..

I use the Tucker Gunleather "Cover Up" most of the time. I also like the "Texas Heritage" model.

I'm using a Sparks VMII right now, but I don't think I'm going to be able to conceal it in the summer, so I'm probably also going to get a CBST.

????

there's much more leather on the CB STD

Yes, I'll get the deluxe. I think the VMII rides too high for my body contour, it almost prints as it is under a sweatshirt, so I need something like the CBSTD with adjustable cant and ride height. I however, did NOT see an option for leather lined? Does CB not offer leather lined for the CBSTD?

nope, i don't think leather lined is an option. the leather that i'm speaking of is the backing itself. if you get a CB, get the Combat Cut option.

Yea I will. I just think it'll be a lot better for summer, since I work outside I wear just t-shirts a lot and there is no way I can hide it in the VMII. FWIW, I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, and skinny. And my clothes are not "fitted," but not baggy at all either. Hrmmm

Looks like everyone uses IWB. I thought there would have been more pancake or paddle style holsters due to the small size of the gun. Has anyone had any issues with IWB carry and the small 1911's?

Kwart holster is cheap. Kinda like the CBST. Great customer service & will be at your door within a week.

I just put my order in for a CBSTD and mag holder. Website says ~ a month. I hope it really conceals like the videos and reviews I've read!

Here's a question for you guys. What if anything, do you do differently when you have to sit, versus standing up? I think that's my main problem. Even with the officer grip length, it's completely obvious when I sit down. I'm hoping the adjustable cant and height on the CBSTD will be able to help it.

Any opinions?

If you're that small the CBSTD will wrap around your entire side.
Where do you carry it right now? 4 o'clock seems to work well concealing it

I've been trying different positions and 4 o'clock seems to be the best ATM. If I bump it up to 3 o'clock, it conceals better sitting, but then the top pokes out. If I move it to 5 o'clock, it's uncomfortable and just doesn't work well.

The good thing is, CB has a 2-week buy-back, so if it doesn't work well, I'll just send it back. I figure it's worth a shot. The VMII conceals well in a t-shirt when I'm standing, but if I bend over, twist, or sit, it shows.

Or, maybe I'm just being super paranoid about printing.

You're just being paranoid.
