My interest has been peaked in the 6.8spc cartridge and wanted to know if there are any factory rifles, not uppersor conversions, but complete factory ARs chambered in 6.8spc that are affordable (1000ish and under) who are also reliable and solidly built? What are the options? Ruger makes one, it's a 1500ish and I saw Rock River has one for about 1000ish. I don't know anything about these 2 in terms of reliability and performance or what else is out there?? I'm sure theres a nice afforable, solidly buil AR15 in 6.8spc - please educate me!! Thanks!

I have a Rock River upper [on a CMMG lower] and it is quite accurate at 100m with Silver State Armory 110-gr. Sierra bullet loads. Since Rock River is well-known for building decent rifles, I imagine that their factory 6.8mm rifle would be a good choice.

LMT and LWRC make some high-end 6.8s also, if you have the $$$.

I've never been in the market for a 6.8 but IIRC, Remington offered one for MSRP of around 1,200 so street price "should" be around $1,050 to $1,100.

Check DPMD also (same rifle, different paint) I THINK...

I would say a forum dedicated to the cartridge in question would be the place to go. Best technical AR site on the net, www.68forums.com (http://www.68forums.com)
Every major AR manufacturer makes a 6.8 now but, some have very poor specs, 68 forums will steer you in the correct direction.
Stay clear of anything Remington in the 6.8, same with model 1 sales, LMT or Ruger. Most of the others have changed to the 11 twist and high performance chambers.

Check out Stag Arms, a lot of people on the 6.8 forums like them. If you know where to look you can get them for a great price.

The whole rifle is the Model 7, upper only is 7H.

IMO you need M4 ramps with the 6.8 Stag, doesn't have them

No,.....it's NOT. DPMS would be very near the bottom of my want list.
