I posted this in the wrong forum by mistake so here goes my second attempt :crying:

I've been waiting on this thing for years it seems.

Does anyone else make an overmolded rubber grip with a compartment for batteries?

Well you may know this, or this may not be what you're after, but as far as Magpul MOE Pistol Grip and the advanced and more expensive MIAD grip, both have comparmentalized bottoms. Right now I have two identical OD Green MOE pistol grips, on my S&W M&P 15-22 and my Bushmaster XM15... and the 15-22 (up until recently when the damn NcStar Optic just *literally split in half in my friends novice-shooter hands*) carries 3 allen wrench keys, a small screw driver, a spare battery, and a little yellow cloth for a cleaning.... and the Bushmaster has either a collection of like 7 different allen wrenches OR I got a Aimpoint Micro tool in there, I couldn't get the baggie of wrenches AND the tool.

Now as far as I know, Magpul makes 3 particular "cores" that you buy for specifically fitting and interacting into their grip compartment- a few rounds of ammo core, a battery carring core, and a spare bolt core. So In your case I believe you'll find what you're looking for.

I wanted the better parts etc. and thought of the MIAD and then the MIAD full kit etc. but I wanted to have the same stuff 15-22 vs. XM-15, if possible, and also I know I am not trying to make this Bushmaster +the best of the best+. Maybe on a different rifle or a build etc. I will upgrade to a free float quad rail, a MIAD+ grip, etc.

The MOE+ is the one that has the overmolded rubber outer layer (Like a Hogue grip). It was supposed to come out in like 08 and for some reason just never did. I would get a Hogue, but it doesn't come with the compartment

At the recent Indy 1500, I got this grip from the guy I bought my lower parts kit from;

It's from Command Arms. It has a compartment;

I really like this grip. It's sitting on my complete lower, until I sell one of my camera bodies. ;)

My Google Fu isn't working well, but here's the link of the guy I got it from;

+1 on bike inner tube over whatever grip you like. Get the moe and stipple it or slap an innertube over it. Problem solved.

I was snoopin around on Brownwells and found this http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=42049/Product/MOE___Gripif anybody here is interested. I however could not find anything on Magpuls sight but it has been my experience that Brownwells lists new stuff from Magpul before Magpul announces their new products.

Just thought I'd pass it along...:wavey:

My Ergo with battery compartment just came in today. To bad their FDE is not close to Magpuls.

Looks just like my ergogrips.
Overmolded Ergos

Only Command Arms grips I've seen are the rubberized ones with swappable finger grooves and backstraps.

Thanks, for that. I bought it at a show, without the box. He thought it was a Command Arms grip. I did some quick searching on the Ergo Suregrip, and found some with the plug, like mine.

That means, both of my ARs have Ergos. :supergrin:
