I love my Guncrafter NN. I can't compare it to the Pro. I am seriously contemplating bringing home a Commander to keep it company. Waiting to hear from Dave today...

Dave was saying that the 15LPI on the NN was less agressive than the 20LPI on the TRP. He said Alex knocks the points off. What did you think?

That might be a good idea, it sounds like you may very well end up with both at some point, so going with the Pro first sort of makes sense.

I faced the same choice and I went with the no name. I got a great deal from drc and I didn't want to wait the year on the pro. Drc is selling a used pro right now and if I can save some money, I'll be buying it. Having shot my no name and quack's pro there really is no bad choice with these two.

I am not sure which I would have chosen if both were available with similar lead times. As it was, Dave put in an order on the Pro first and had the NN to me in short order (since it was originally destined for him!) I will be lucky to see the Pro by October this year. I am/was in no rush. Both were on my short list - in no order. You cannot go wrong with either.

I love my No Name Commander.

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/OU1911/HCCommander_007.jpg

Big fan of the Pro as well. My only issue with the Pro, is that it comes as is. Period. If you want something done different to it, then you have to send it back to SACS. Not an ambi fan, am a flush crown barrel fan and would prefer the trigger guard to be cut higher, like a Wilson/Colt. Then I gotta send it off to Metaloy for a hardchrome job. And that's alot of $ to put into a gun, that I just waited a year for in the first place. :dunno:Other than that, the SA Pro is the shiznit. As for the guy who asked about shooting high end 1911's. Like Quack, when I go to the range, I usually carry a few of them too. I don't shoot them as much as I'd like because ammo is so damn high. :crying:

I'd look towards a Baer 1.5" gun. Browns and Wilsons are both high quality, but the Baer will be more accurate and that's a quality that never loses its luster.

I think that ed brown les baer springfield wilson all can make a nice 1911. For me they are all just nice production guns. Wilson churns out cqbs brown churns kobra and special forces springfield churns pros and trps thunder n concepts and monolith from baer. I think a lot of us want a high end gun that I can post a pic of and it actually looks different than hundreds or thousands of others.

I can see that, but at the same time could see the opposite being prefered. The Pro is definitely more carry oriented. It has fixed night sights, and a little heavier trigger. They both have nice finishes, but I'd have to give the nod to the TGO in this regard. Build quality on both is first rate.
