I had a OWB holster for my officers It was okay, but I think that because I am a larger build guy. But then I got my Fullsize springer and got a ShieldedHolster from this site's member Kwart, and love it. spreads the weight out great, it tuckers it in tight, it is tuckable, it is adjustable for cant and depth, it is leather lined kydex shell, it has great retention, and it has a combat cut. All of this set me back 45.00 I can't imagine a 150+ holster doing any better of a job, I would recommend them 100%

That is my favorite. Not because it's pretty, cause it's dog ugly. But because it works so well I actually forget I am wearing a gun.

Ok, he has to be a friend/family/something or other for you to keep mentioning him. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the skull faced grips on an advert and full blown scenery on a holster makes me laugh. Then I see the prices he's asking.

I mean no offense to you or your taste.. to each his own. I'm just sayin.

I use the Tucker Gunleather Cover Up the most, but I really like the Texas Heritage the most. (Cover Up is great when you have the need to quickly take it off and on throughout the day)

I like that. Looks like it rides low.

I've had a couple VM2s (Sig P229, G30) and the gun rode too high. It looks like with a longer gun (like the 5" 1911), it sits a little lower.

I am using a TT Gunleather "Mikes Special" for my Kobra Carry.

For many years my favorite was a Milt Sparks Summer Special. When my body began to change I began using and still use one of several yaqui slide holsters.I've been having some health issues and don't want the pistol banging against my kidney so I'm looking into a shoulder holster the upcoming gunshow.Lots of nice examples in the above posts. The world of leather goods has been moving along and I haven't been paying attention.tom.:embarassed:

Occidental Leather's Phoenix IWB. Easily the nicest holster I've ever had and does a very good job of making my 1911 disappear. Quality is right up there with Sparks, Kramer, etc.

How long did it take you to break that sucker in? I got one for my Kimber PC2 and it was TIGHT. No telling how long it would take to loosen it up. I was gonna send it to Quack's proctologist.

Mine was nice right from the start. I have heard a few complaints here and there about some being tight though.

Milt Sparks VM II is the most comfortable holster I own. I have over ten of them for different models; 1911's rail 1911's, commanders, compacts, HK 45C, HK 45.

I went to their site but didn't find that model. Can you hit us up with a product link?

I think they are available exclusively through Ross Road Bags.

I've also got the single mag holder which is excellent.

I've had a ton and still have five IWB 1911 5" holsters.

The best all around is my Sparks Summer Special II. I do have a similar 5 shot on order...

I actually got mine NIB off their eBay store. I was about $15-20 cheaper than their site.

I always recommend Don Hume Leathergoods out of Oklahoma. I have five holsters and a belt from them. I have their H710 OWB [$28.95] concealment holster and PCCH [$56.50] (Preferred Concealment Carry Holster) for my 1911. I like both, mostly carry the OWB instead of the IWB since my 'muffin top' has been getting bigger :whistling:.

Not my gun or holster (borrowed from Tactical Life, but the holster is identical to my PCCH:

Another vote for the MTAC. I bought one for my officers model and now I'm trying to decide between just buying extra shells for my other guns or new holsters for each one. Secure and comfortable.

For IWB, the Milt Sparks VM2 is excellent, and the Crossbreed Supertuck is very comfortable. For OWB, the DeSantis Speed Scabard hugs the body and provides a natural draw.

Galco leather OWB concealment. All day with great comfort and fast ,very fast draw IWB don,t cut it for comfort and the tuck and hide type are dead mans holsters that are way to slow. A good way to shot fast.
