View Full Version : "40 S&W" to "40" GLOCK SLIDE MARKING
Any of you GT'ers know what year Glock began roll-marking the slides on the Forties "40" - from the previously marked "40S&W?" I have seen both the G22, and G27 with these markings in Sweeney's book. Also not sure if the G23 was similarly marked, as I have not seen a photo of one. Any answers on this would be appreciated. Already checked the Archives - if I missed that post, please let me know. Thanks

I though Glocks were always like that
They never put other brands on their guns
No Smith & Wesson for the 40 cal
No Automatic Colt Pistol for the 45 cal
But GAP is there
They did mark them that way for a very short time - so assume that these Glocks "may" have some slight collector value. Sweeney book a great reference, just re-checked; many photos of G22, G27 w/ 40 S&W on slide - did not see any G23's with the marking. Cheers

My (1st ??) Gen G22 (02xxxDPD) is marked ".40 SW". I don't know the year, but it was a Detroit PD trade in.
I have a 23 marked 40 SW! is it rare?

No help on dates but i believe the .357sig was on some early glock's then the .357.
Thanks for the replies. Some questions may be answered on GlockFaq.com. They have sections on collector Glocks and various markings. Cheers
My 1990 G23 only says .40!
My gen 2 G22 ser BFT*** is marked .40 SW. I think I bought it about 91 or 92.

Based on the SN survey, your gun is either a late 1994 or early 1995 model. My G22 starts with AAK and was made in early 1992 - it too is marked with the '.40SW' roll mark.
My G27 is marked .40 SW :cowboy:
Thought we needed a picture here.
An older Gen 2 that has really been carried:
