How AR10's different from AR15's

I have a question I guess so basic that I can not seem to find a answer here or on some other sites.

What makes a AR10 different from a AR15? :dunno:

Is it characteristics or dimensions of barrels, caliber, upper assemblies, lower receivers or bolts?

I have been pondering and scratching on this so long its hard to sit down now

It is different in every way, the receiver bore is larger diameter, it is longer and will not fit a AR15, the float tubes are larger and will not fit a AR15, the mags are different.
The 10 shoots 308 sized cartridges 2.8" long. the AR15 is limited to 2.3" cartridges.

so a AR10 is better suited to shoot .308 than a AR15?

If AR15 components are used in a 7.62 do they hold up well to the extra stress and pressures of the 7.62 compared to the 5.56?
