WMV video won't play on my DVD player

A WMV video (college hockey game video -- about 2 hours long) plays on my computer, but not on my DVD player hooked up to my television.

Is there a way to convert it?

AVStoDVD is what I use. It's a freeware program that re-encodes video files to DVD format and burns them.

Well, I was able to convert the video just fine, but the sound somehow missed the boat . . . I'll have to look deeper into the interface.
