View Full Version : Sig scope: Any good?
I've been looking at various aiming devices for my AR and came across the Sig Red Dot Scope.
Any experience with this piece? I have the Sig weapon light and laser and have been really happy with it. I am wondering if the scope is of the same quality.
I don't expect it to be as well made as an Aimpoint, but at half the price it looks tempting.
Is it a fighting gun or a plinking gun?
I believe that scope is also sold as the iTAC RDS1 or Konus Pro Atomic with slight variations and looks to give the illusion it's an Aimpoint T1. I would do further research on the iTAC and Konus. There are some threads floating around comparing them to the Sig.
Factory accessories are often money makers for companies and don't necessarily hold the same quality standards. Most firearm manufacturers don't make lights, lasers, or optics so they purchase contracts with vendors to put their logo on their products.
You can find the Konus version for about $100 and the iTAC for about $150.
Thanks, I will look into those guys and see if they are indeed the same.
While doing a little searching, I found it for $100 at ******.
May just role the dice and see if it is any good.
It appears your right. iTac is owned by Sig as a means to import some of the cheaper appearing Chinese goods.
Have to warn you too. Do some Googling on ******. They advertise fantastic prices but might not deliver as promised and turn into a headache.
I have this exact Sig Micro red dot on my S&W M&P15-22, and it's been great. I dropped in once, and it retained it's zero. This is on a plinker rifle. Since I run my equipment hard, I personally wouldn't use the Sig red dot for my defensive rifle. If for a .22LR or similar, go for it. It is a good value for the price.
******...blahhh! I had several bad bad experiences with them...never again for me.
