Hi Mas,

I was wondering what your opinion is on the .40 Corbon DPX 140gr at 1200 fps? Do you favor the 135gr Nosler at 1300 fps? Does the 140gr have any street record? Do you think the ability of the DPX to maintain it's integrity through obstacles and penetrate deeper give it an advantage? Thank you for sharing your opinion, and your knowledge.

Regards,
Gus

THe DPX looks promising in .40, and worked well in the one shooting I've heard of (reported by John Farnam). However, the 135 grain JHP you mention has been around much longer, done extraordinarily well in many shootings, and for that reason engenders more confidence in this conservative old geezer.
YMMV,
Mas

Thanks Mas,
I was also wondering what you think of the DPX in 9mm 115gr? Does it have any street record? Do you think I should stick with 127gr+p+, the DPX is very expensive; although, Black Hills sells them in 50 rd boxes for around $47.

Haven't run across a DPX shooting with the 9mm, either. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
best,
Mas

That's alright, thanks any way. I think I'll stick with the Ranger T 127gr +p+, and GD 124gr+p; they have a street record and they are about half the price. When I get a G27, I will try the 135gr Nossler and the 155gr Silver Tip to see which one is more accurate in my gun. I am a little concerned about the 10" penetration of the 135gr, but if it has an outstanding record, I guess that's enough for civilian self defense purposes.

Gus
