I'm curious if there are any compact tactical lights out there. I'm basically looking for the smallest light that still exhibits at least good performance. Ideally I'd like it to not extend too far beyond the muzzle on a G19 (or ideally it would be flush) but I'm not sure if any lights fit the bill. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been looking at the TLR-3 and I'm leaning towards that. I've even got Optics Planet to price match someone else and sell it to me for $68 shipped (other website didn't have free shipping so I went to them for the match). That being said I haven't settled on it just yet but I have a week to make my mind up before the price match coupon expires. I kind of want something with a quick release though so I do like the X2 and the TLR-3, while compact, does stick out a bit although not enough for me to really care. I was even considering the TLR-1 since I like the way it looks better, and how bright it is, but I decided 90 lumens was more than enough in a lighter, smaller package. The X2 is definitely too expensive though so I think it will end up being the TLR-3. I'd like to spend under $100 and if I can get something as good as a Streamlight for under $70 shipped I feel like I should go with that (local gun shop sells them for $130 + tax).

Is there anything else as good as Streamlight in the sub-$100 range? I know the TLR-1 is around $100 so that's a contender but for the above reasons I probably won't buy it. Still I can't believe both of their options are $100 or less while everyone else is selling flashlights for $200+.

It sounds like the TLR-3 is the choice.

Yeah. I just submitted another price match so with any luck I'll be getting it for $60 shipped, since their shipping is free. If that's the case it will be too good of a deal to pass up.

Streamlight TLR-3 hands down. If you get it for $60 shipped, how can you pass it up?

Looks like they won't match the 60 shipped but I can still get it for 68 shipped. I have 5 or 6 days left to use the coupon they gave me.

Why not just get it from whoever is offering it for 60?

Because the shipping isn't free and I don't trust the site all that much. I told Optics Planet that they offered me free shipping but they didn't buy that the 2nd time around. I got them to price match the $68 + shipping site by saying the shipping was free though and they matched it to $68 with free UPS ground. I still think $68 is an amazing deal so I will most likely be buying it this weekend.

Get the TLR 3. It's a great light. Its perfect on my M&P 9mm Sub Compact. It has adapters for larger pistols but its really set up for the compacts. Unless you have longer fingers it would be kinda hard to activate on a larger frame. The adapters just dont place it far enough back.

I just re-read your post and if its going on a G19 it will be ok if your fingers are longer. If not then there are better options. I have large hands and it still feels kinda awkward to hit the switch. You might want to try one out first.

Does it not push up against the trigger guard like I've seen on other Glocks with the TLR-3?

I guess I have more research to do. I'd rather spend $68 shipped on a TLR-3 than $85 + shipping on a TLR-1 but that is still a good deal. I may just hold off and spend the money on more magazines for my P22.

Can someone tell me why the TLR-3 doesn't work well on the G19?
