these are my two GSDs, Gunnar and Sarge. some of you may remember seeing them on here before but its been awhile since ive been to the Woof Memorial.

i got a bite sleeve, agitation collar and whip today. gunnar has been trained througout the past but its been awhile. Sarge is the abused rescue that my wife trained into a certified therapy dog.

Sarge was a total surprise today. my wife tried to get gunnar interested in the nw sleeve and sarge snapped it from him. they now need to be worked seperately as you can tell from the pic above.

feel free to post pics of your dogs if they participate in shutzhund or similar protection training etc...

GSD's, the dogs for those that haven't heard of the Belgian Malinois.

Good looking dogs. I've never worked on bite work with my Mal, just agility stuff. He picks up just about anything I've taught him. If I could just turn his hearing down at times however. He goes on alert when a car door down the street closes

i would love a Mal. they are a close second for me. my wife thinks they are a bit too high energy as shes only ever seen the MWD Mals.

High energy is an understatement. Their ability to go all out all the time is unbelievable.

Sanchez has spent some time with a retired SMSgt from the AF that spent half her career in the MWD program at Lackland. She absolutely loves him and says she's only seen a few that have his markings and stature. In her opinion he should be used a show dog and not a working dog. Won't bore you with anymore boasting about my dog, haha.

I'd love to get a Dutch Shepherd to go with him, but it was hard enough finding a Mal around here. I keep an eye out on the adoption/rescue boards, no luck so far. I got Sanchez from a local breeder by a stroke of luck. If I can't find a Dutch somewhat local I may reach out to some of the better known breeders and see if they have any goofy Dutch's that won't make the cut for working on a daily basis and are better suited for a role as a pet.
