Thanks to BAC, I got mine last year. Anyone interested might want to jump on it. GREAT gun. VERY accurate and as well built as any of my semi-customs.

Mine was NIB, but that one looks to be a really nice one for sure. Plus it has a few upgrades that make up for it already having been fired IMO. Come on guys. A GT'er has got to buy that thing.

I wish I did Hokie. IMO, the Legacy is a better 1911 than the KC you have coming. You might would be better off selling it and buying the Legacy. I know I may get slammed for that statement, but I personally believe it to be true. :)

Yeah, I could just let George keep the 20% and still have enough to pay for the Legacy. :animlol:

The Legacy is my favorite STI and certainly one of the best 1911s they ever built.

The trigger guard sure received a nice undercut! So that and the grips are the only mods from a stock Legacy? At $1500 it sure slides into the Les Baer Premier II category.

There's no way I'd trade my Legacy for a Baer PII.

I don't think this is hijacking the thread since the Legacy is still in the convo, but what about the Legacy is equal to or "better" than the PII. Baer puts a lot of quality into the non-1.5 PII in terms of features (undercut tg, frontstrap checkering, tight barrel to bushing, etc.) and you can have it without the unique looking scroll work.

Interested to hear your objective input.

I never said it was better. In fact, I'd give the Baer the slight edge in build quality. The fact is that the PII is dime-a-dozen respectively in the semi-custom 1911 world.

The Legacy is a rare sight and a beautifully made production gun. Its also very different from anything STI built before or since. I like the rare stuff.

I stand corrected and apologize for putting words in your mouth.

I'd buy that Legacy if not for the cursive Legacy on the slide. Petty of me, I know. Plus I would be holding my $625 STI Spartan and wondering "hmmmm, this legacy ain't that much different, should've kept searcing for a RRA!"

Well, the Legacy is no RRA Limited Match, but its head and shoulders above the Spartan.

They aren't even built by the same company.

Sorry bac, I wasn't trying to start anything I really was curious but i misread what you said. I haven't really gotten into the STI's yet but they are beautiful. I really like the "OFF DUTY" "USPSA single stack" and the "Guardian". Those are the only STI's I want.

Why is it that we 1911 junkies are never satisfied with what we have? ;)

I've asked myself that so many times. :headscratch:

I love the two 1911's that I have. I would never trade them and I will never sell them.

You know, I've noticed that I have never loved any other guns like i do 1911's....why is that, how can that be, what is it about them that makes them so incredibly special to people like us.....do glock people feel the same way about glocks???

No kidding. 3 or 4 years ago I'd probably never have thought I'd own 8 of them. Now that I've got 8, that number just seems small. :faint:

Just posted on STI's FB page that they should bring back the Legacy. This is their response.

" I agree- that WAS a beautiful gun. PVD is a great finish too. But there just weren't enough people who agreed with us enough to actually buy one. :(

I bet you can get one through the custom shop, though! (once it reopens)."

Paul, the Legacy just wasn't a traditional STI, I guess.

People don't go to STI for a 1911 like the Legacy was. That's probably why it wasn't a seller.
