Looking to possibly purchase a 1911 in the next 3 months, and the only criteria I have is:
-Under $900
-4" barrel
-No rail
-I like Novak style sights
I do like black finishes, but SS is not a deal breaker. I just want something nice, basic with not a lot of frills, and reliable. I do not want something that I need to change much, I would spend it up front if that was the case. Just out of the box decent.

Springfield Champion or Kimber Pro Carry 2. I'd save another $100 and get a STI Ranger 2. Barrel is a smidge over 4", but more bang for the buck.

The Springfield Champion looks decent, looks like there are some options (finishes) to pick through.

His odds of finding a Champion TRP and one at that price are slim to none.
That's pretty sweet looking.
we're going to the Medina gunshow tomorrow if you want to meet up.
I have a springfield loaded champion which has a bull barrel with ramp, and it has never given me a problem. Its polished stainless with night sights, think i spent 650 but they retail about 800.

I am really leaning towards the Springfield Loaded Champion, as posted above. I certainly appreciate the feedback! I think the tough part will be to actually find one.
Quack, that pistol looks pretty sharp! I agree with the poster who said fat chance I will find one at that price though.

+1 on saving $100 more and going for the STI Ranger II.

Did you pick up anything? Finally get that Hi-Point you've been drooling over?
sold my RRA AR and went home with $$$ in my pocket.
got home and looked for 9mm 1911's and bought these that got worked on by the SACS
9mm hi-cap and a 38 Super Mil-spec.
SACS fit them so that the slides and frames can be swapped
the 9mm has a Nowlin's barrel too

Very nice. Why did you get rid of your AR? Was that your only one?

bought it for CHEAP and with the intention of making money, which i did. i have other AR's. I also stripped the gun of some parts for one of my AR's, like the RRA 2-stage trigger, anti-walk pins, grip, and extended charging handle.

I just picked up a S&W 1911SC in Commander length for $630.

Sounds like you made out. I went to Medina last month, just bought 500 rounds for my AK.
earlier in the year i bought an under-folder AK to go with my 1000rds of ammo :animlol:

Nice, that's a good problem to have. Normally I don't have enough ammo for the guns I have. I'm really trying to resist adding any calibers for a while. We'll see how that goes.
