I was thinking of sending in the barrels to my Kimber Eclipse and Ultra Carry II to get the NP3 treatment. No coating on bare steel does not sit well with me and since my first Kimber UC II did start showing signs of rust on the barrel hood, I thought I'd knock these two out ahead of time.

I'm wondering what the turn around time is and if I could just send the barrel in.

They'll definately do just the barrel, but you would have to call them on a time frame. I would imagine the turn around for just a barrel would be pretty fast.

I'd call them if you want a solid answer. They are pretty fast, did my RRA in ~ 6 weeks.

Here's some teaser pics with a Bac carpet shot included. This is not an RRA built gun, it started life as an RRA frame and slide.

I'll get the other half to take better pics if I don't forget. Thanks for DRC for the inspiration on the finish.

That looks great! I'm almost thinking of getting the whole gun done where the UC II is involved. I'm picking up a Solo on Thursday so as soon as my UC would be going back in the safe for summer I'll send in the barrels or maybe the whole gun to Robar. BTW, whats the real difference between the NP3 and NP3 Plus?

That Baer looks awsome! Why did you go with the NP3+ over the regular NP3?

I bought the gun from Dave (drc767) with the NP3+ already on it. The NP3+ is better than regular NP3 because it has a + on the end of it.

I had my Les Baer PMII done in NP3 about 8 yrs ago, 12-15K rounds later and not a chip or any sign of peeling. tough as nails

Called Robar. NP3 plus is for Marine use like if the gun will be around salt water and what not. I honestly think the NP3 plus would be worth it since the difference in price to the regular NP3 is small.

Turnaround time for 2 barrels would be 3-4 weeks. They must be busy since it seems most people get an entire gun back with-in 2 weeks. I might hold off until the warmer months so the UC II would not be in use and I could decide if I wanted to get any additional work done.

4 weeks door-to-door for NP3 on two Glock slide-barrel assemblies.
Haven't shot them yet, but looking forward to doing it soon.
