I have a Browning BDA which is an early version of a P220. I've had it for decades and it has always worked flawlessly. Recently, tho, it has stopped returning to battery. If I oil it right before shooting, it works okay for a couple of mags and then starts failing again.

What gives? Recoil spring maybe?

I'd replace the recoil spring first and see if that cures it. My best guess is that is the problem.

Yup all you need is a new recoil spring.

Anyone have a recommendation for the best place to pick one up?

Top Gun Supply for the original braided springs...Wolff springs from Brownell's or similar should be able to hook you up...
