Need two Holster for a Smith and Wesson 637 looking for a IWB holster in Horsehide also need a pocket Holster for a Smith and Wesson 637 I like options. I like Leather and horse hide seems like it be more durable for me in Florida I do sweat. I like having options I am open to any decent manufacture. Thanks guys in advance.

I like the Supertuck but there kinda pricey and I wanna know what other options are out there and what you guys use and like. If it comes down to it thought I will drop a 100 dollars on a holster to get something that will last.

Also guessing a Smith and Wesson 637 will be easy to conceal

As far as Pocket holsters go I have no idea I guess just what ever is durable?

I'm curious too! I'm buying my dad's 637 this weekend, and I've been thinking about what kind of holster to get for it. Any other ideas?

I know you said leather, but ...

Here is a kydex IWB from Alabama Holsters, that I highly recommend for a snubby.

... Now back to the question of who has a good leather holster suggestion :)

I like that kydex... how comfortable/uncomfortable is it compared to leather?

Also - any suggestions on nylon holsters?

Very comfortable. I have one for my 642, with a longer belt-loop attachment so it rides low. And my wife has one for her 637, with a shorter belt-loop attachment so it rides high. The owner, Greg I think his name is, will give you exactly what you want.

Personally, I don't like leather for IWB. For OWB leather is ok, especially for good looks. But kydex has the following advantages for IWB:
-- doesn't absorb and retain sweat.
-- doesn't stain your clothes.
-- doesn't make your gun rust.
-- holds its shape under your belt so is easy to re-holster the gun.
-- doesn't require any straps to fumble with, because retention is acheived by form fitting shape that hugs your cylinder or trigger guard (no levers needed, just a good design and fit).

Back from the dead.

Just picked up my first j-frame last night (model 637). I'm in need of a appendix carry IWB holster. Any material is fine. I'd prefer something that causes the gun to ride low, like a deap concealment holster. And preferably something available for immediate purchase.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I bought the gun for summer carry and wouldn't want to be reciving my holster for it at the end of summer. Which is why I'm looking for non-custom options.

I found a Bell Charter Oak holster that I really like. Price is steep but doable. But it's an 8-10 week wait. If there's something else on the market that is very similar to this and will arrive sooner, then I'd be interested.

Thanks for the links, but neither were too helpful. The first link was a discussion of the concept of AIWB (which I've been utilizing for 6 years now), and was written by a guy who was under the impression that his carry gun will fire itself at any moment, therefore AIWB is not safe. Both sad and funny.

And the second link is a generic picture thread filled mostly images of semi-auto guns.

I ended up picking up an Uncle Mikes holster for $12 shipped and modifying it. I removed the plastic clip and reattached it higher up to allow the gun to sit lower and upright in my waisteband. It now sits 2" lower and feels very comfortable. It's not quite the deap concealment I was after, but it's pretty darn close and I'm happy enough with it to not be interested in buying anything else anytime soon.

Anyway, just wanted to share some pics.
