That one included a factory tour and some other ceremonious stuff. I bet this one stays south of 60.

Free tour with this one too, and some free stuff to boot!

WOW, that is ugly!! Why is Samuel Colt on the grip, he had nothing to do with the 1911, and been dead for close to 50 yrs. I understand its the company he started, but seems strange to me.

I must have missed that while trapped in the engraved gaze of JMB!

I'd love to own a Colt 1911 just as much as anyone....just not that one. I understand what they're getting at with but it ruins the actual "pure" beauty of the weapon.

Agreed, I'm not big on any of these anniversary 1911s.

Been watching that one too. The msrp for the 2 guns is 2295+1150= 3445! Someone is trying to pay 5550 and the freakin reserve is not even met! Wow, are those matching serial #'s worth that much? Someone has lost it. I just paid 1099 for an ANV III alone, its barely worth that.

I agree. It should have nobodys pic on the grip, but if they have to, JMB would be the only choice.

It's only worth it if you really want it. All the ANVII's are sold out now and matched serial number sets will be really hard to find. A year from now 6K will be a bargain for a set of those.

I hope your right Nick. That is what I am banking on with my ANV III. Hopefully one day it will be worth more than what I just paid for it.

Colt collectors have deep pockets so I'm not surprised. There's some impressive work in that gun, it's not for me, but impressive none the least.

Christmas Vacation! HA!! The Bearded Lady, yeah? Last year he was a pixie-dust spreader on the tilt-a-whirl, this year I figure he'll be guessin' wights weights or barkin' for the yak lady...

on of my favorite exchanges on that movie.

The main gun of this post rides a fine line between overdone, as expected, and showcase of work. not my thing, but I would not be surprised to see it go for near $100k.

The reversed 'matching' serial numbers on that set linked in a later post is a pretty interesting idea.

I'm with you. Not my kind of thing. Not that I could afford it if it was.

If I had that kind of money, I would have five or six 1911s from SVI.

The sad thing is, the slide is already scratched from rubbing on the front/top part of the frame....$30k....WoW.

Some guy on gunstroker tried to sell me a 1911 that had an uneven slide thickness on either sides of the barrel bushing......gotta really pay attention to detail when dealing on gunstroker!

The reserve has now been met. Somwhere below 33625. I am surprised that the reserve was that low. I hope this gun brings lots of money for charity, or good NRA causes. We'll see!
