Saw other posts here but haven't seen an answer yet, or I'm just a n00b looking in all the wrong places,... but I have this problem with both of my and my wife's Glock 17's:

Is it OK that the edge of the striker pin channel seems to be "mushroomed" over, as in the following pics?
Both guns seem to function adequately, and I can't push the pin down to make the striker protrude when I have the slides off.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here's the pictures and weapon info:

Both purchased used / local armor, reportedly trade-ins from some type of LE academy.

Thanks in advance!

You have quite a bit of wear in the second pic. I recommend you replace the firing pin safety and striker in this one

Thanks. After conducting enough research, I've decided to return both of my 17's to Glock. They will "over-haul" them and all it costs me is the shipping! Can't beat that! One more reason I LOVE the Glock!

They would rebuild them while you wait at a GSSF event. Thats one of the best reasons in the world to attend
