Ny 1 spring question

Has anyone used NY1 spring with out the coil spring in between? And if so does reliability suffer? Would you use it for HD OR CCW?

The original NY trigger springs did not have a coil spring between the leaves.
The coil spring adds to the reliability, why would you remove it.
BTW: An airplane has dual controls, it works fine with one. Would you use it?
