Just thought I'd start a thread to BS for a while. I took the day off work for a little me time, long weekend. I slept in, had a leisurely brunch and decided to prep more rifle brass for next week. I zipped out 300 cases on the RT1200 in the last 30 minutes and have them in the tumbler half and half corncob/walnut with a little nu-finsh to clean off the lube and knock whatever slight burrs there may be.

So what are everyones reloading/shooting plans for the weekend? I have 2 matches IDPA saturday and USPSA sunday. Gonna do some chrono work on my 9mm and rifle loads after the matches provided the weather stays reasonably dry.

Nice good luck Bob. I have a few travel plans myself later this year for shooting events. Idaho and California State IDPA Championships for sure.

Sounds good Boxer. I just started tumbling with 50/50 corn and walnut and am very happy with the resulte.

Did you book a senior citizen handicapped room?

Be careful at the shoot, don't slip and break a hip. :whistling:

Loaded 400 rounds of .38 since I got home (took off a little early today); going to try and finish a total of 1000 so I can switch back to 9mm this weekend.

Cranking out my favorite .45acp target load on my RCBS Rock Chucker as we speak.

200gr Semi Wadcutter with a secret amount of Unique powder.
(It ain't really a secret, it's the most popular target load in .45acp)

It's all over the internet and in most reloading manuals.

First time out with my new shotgun this morning and shot trap with a couple buddies. Going to the range tomorrow morning to shoot pistols while the wife goes out. Maybe load some more 40's on Sunday morning if time permits.

The 50/50 mix is a little more agressive knocks those burrs down real quick.

Was supposed to be shooting a USPSA match tomorrow, but that storm system is moving through here tonight and in the morning, so it got cancelled. I'll go to the indoor range instead, and have one more practice session for the GSSF match at Morganton on Sunday (40 miles from my house).

It'll be too wet to do outdoor stuff tomorrow, so I'll probably load up 1000 rounds or so.

Today I loaded 200 rounds of .40 and ran about 2000 rounds of federal 9mm and .40 brass through the tumbler. Still messing with this overall length issue. This Sunday a local club is doing a handicap IDPA outlaw match to honor FatMike . He keeps making excuses why he can't shoot so the whole match is from seated position. That will teach him.

Yes it does, kinda a matt finish, I just pulled my brass out of the tumbler from early today, was set on a timer for one hour. I'm about to crank out another 50 rounds of .223 to chrono test myself tomorrow. I love having a day just to goof off and do as I like.... long time coming for me.

The closest I've come to reloading this week was to tumble several hundred '06 and .223 cases picked up last weekend, and to put away 22 lbs of powder, some Tula primers for testing and a few other components from PVI. The local IDPA match will be next Saturday, so I'll be getting comfortable tomorrow with a new 6" 10-5 that was picked up this week.

Good luck, Bob, at the GSSF match tomorrow. And to you too, Mitchell!

It's in Richmond, Northern Bay Area late May. I have a cousin that lives in Pinole which is only 10 minutes away. I'll stay there shoot the Match Saturday and visit with family Sunday. I try to shoot that one every year for the excuse to do so. http://www.goldengate-idpa.com/

I am waiting on 4k .452 200gr LSWC. They processed thru the sorting facility (5 miles from my house) yesterday and still don't show as out for delivery today. Gonna drive over there to see if I can pick them up in person and get cranking.

Trying out a new vendor for my cast bullets, but have heard nothing but good things about him. If he does well with these, he'll get my business for other calibers.

I loaded up some 10mm 155 grain plated rounds with AA#7 this week. Then yesterday (the day this thread was inquiring about) I loaded up my first 50 rounds of 155 grain JHPs by upping the amount of AA#7. Depending on the reloading manual, the load should be travelling around 1,200 fps. Hopefully, I'll have time to take it to the range this week and see how manageable the follow on shots are. I'm also hoping the load is relatively accurate. I want to see how my new Pearce grip extensions work on my G29 too.

And, oh yeah, I just got my Gen 2 G21 back from getting a grip reduction. I want to put 50 rounds through it too.

Snuck in depriming, resizing, and putting a little flare on some 45ACP cases - some I shot and some the range officer let me have last time I was there. Most were Federal SPP so I had to sort them both. I'll prime them tonight after the kids go to bed. If I can I'm going to pull a whack of 45acp LRN's that I loaded last week that keyholed pretty significantly this week and see what my charge is in a few of them. May just shoot them all instead of pulling all of them.

Loaded 300 rounds of 223 earlier in basement during tornado watch. The real tornado went a bit west of us...safe a place as any :)

I just fired up the pot and made about 600 125TC's for my G17. These don't need to be sized so I just tumble lubed and they are drying on some wax paper.

Well, hauling the felled tree and completing sprinkler repairs killed the planned session with the 10-5. So this evening, I decided to start prepping the RPU brass from last weekend. Initial tumble and resizing/depriming is now completed. (Each row on the tray is appx 40 cases). They are now revisiting the tumbler to remove the lube.

Not reloading, but it was nice and cool yesterday, so cast about 300 .530 round ball and a 100 or so 255grainers for the 'ol .45LC.

Well I just got back from my trip to Thibodaux Louisiana. Sorry Jack I did not fall down and break my hip.:tongueout: All of my reloads and Glocks guns worked flawlessly. I cannot say the same for me. 3 of my 4 categories.:crying: Well letís just say that I have not shot that bad for years. But the other category I but down to shot in Guardian category but when they posted the scores they put me down for Am Civ. But if they put me back in Guardian I came in first place. I also got to meet and briefly talk to Blake Miquez and watch him shoot. Very impressive. He was on the first Top Shot. Thanks for all of the well wishers.

Actually I'm glad you didn't break a hip and the other competitors are probably more thankful that you didn't wound anybody.

Happy to hear that you had a good time, welcome home. :wavey:

I went through 228 rounds (got a partial reshoot for prop failure) in 5 stages today, was a pretty good match. My first USPSA match of the year. My faithful G34's first out of safe trip in months. I have say been getting spoiled with that smooth single action on the Spartan 9mm. The Glock felt weird after so long. Was good seeing you today Mike, gotta get your safety check in join the fun. It will at give you more trigger time eventhough it isn't IDPA.

I talked them into a shortened safety check I just have to call and show up a little early next time and I am good to go. Had I talked to them when I first got there today I would have been fine. Other than not having enough mag pouches.
