I just got my NRA American Rifleman magazine and saw a product review for the LaserLyte Training Cartridge. (page 30 April Issue) It's basically a snap cap with a laser that is lit by the firing pin and projects the beam down the barrel and shows you what you "hit".
I wish I'd thought of that! Comes in 9mm, .40 and.45
www.laserlyte.com (http://www.laserlyte.com). A hundred bucks but would take dry firing to the next level.

Would have liked it more if you could chamber a round via the magazine.

I was skeptical but got one 'cause I couldn't get out in the snow to shoot but now I'm sold.
Really nice for practice when you can't get out or have just a short time. Really helps with trigger control and grip.

Would have liked it more if it was $20.

Yeah I've always wondered why some laser devices are so expensive being a laser pointer costs no more than $3-$4??
Lasergrips, Guide rods, aiming devices etc shouldn't cost very much..
Looks like they'd make a laser into a dummy round that flashed when the firing pin strikes the primer button & could be used on any firearm of the same caliber?? And make in For $20-$25..
