View Full Version : Testing Handgun Ammo
I was wondering what is the best way to test handgun ammo without ballistics jell. I have read on the internet that using wet newspaper in a 5 gallon bucket. Is very close to using ballistics jell. Is there other ways to test the ammo. Also what is a safe distance of penetration during testing including ballistics jell to insure bullet does not pass threw.

Personally, I like the wax tubes used with the manufacturer's conversion formula to equate to gelatin testing.
IMHO, all need to be taken in context with investigation of actual shootings using the load in question.
