I have read many of your posts on the topic of changing from the stock trigger to a lighter one for self defense and I came accross the ghost 5.0

This is a quote from the companies site. Any insight on this, is it a breakthrough or false. I am considering buying this yet I hesitate because of many things I have read about lighet triggers.

Troy, I'm afraid it doesn't change anything.

Lighter pulls have never been ILLEGAL, but they have long been getting their users in trouble in court in terms of both accidental shootings and false allegations of accidental shootings. Light pull options have been around forever. It's not about law, it's about trial tactics.

I'm sure this Ghost product is well made -- this manufacturer has tons of satisfied customers here at Glock Talk -- but I would still use it only for recreational/match guns if it's lighter than the Glock factory specified 5.5 pound pull. The reasons are exhaustively discussed and documented in the sticky in Carry Issues about 3.5 pound connectors and liability.
