I just finished loading some 357 mag, 125g jhp

I used the data from the Alliant web site.

After finishing I realized I did not pay attention to the OAL.

I'm about .02 under the min OAL.

Is this a problem?.

I let the top of the crimp line dictate where I set the bullet.
The first one went into my collection of "that's a little deep Bubba" jar.

Depends on the load. Did you start at Max?

Your bullets should have a cannelure grove. Roll crimp into the center of that grove. If you do that and the finished round does not go past the front face of the cylinder you are good to go.

Ok......I'll start shooting for the middle instead of the top.

The reason you go for the middle of the bullet cannelure. Is hopefully it takes care of any variation in case lengths. .02 variations is nothing to worry about. As long as you roll crimp somewhere in that cannelure you are good to go. Very round does not have to be perfectly in the center of the cannelure. As long as it is somewhere in the cannelure. I donít think I can ever remember when a round wasnít.

To be honest, never bothered recording OAL in revolver loads. Just note the load is crimped in the cannelure or crimp groove & go shoot. OAL isn't as critical in the longer cases as it is in the small volumn, high pressure 9mm, 40 & 357sig.
