I don't know how many Michiganians are aware of the Appleseed project but it is up and running in Michigan. It is basically a 2 day rifle shooting clinic put on by a historical/heritage non-profit organization at various shooting/sportsmans club around the state.

It is non-political, non partisan, non religious. It welcomes new shooters, non shooters, experienced shooters, kids, women, families. Kids shoot free. Women shoot for $5. Cops, active duty military, disabled vets and elected officials shoot free as well.

I took my daughter and it is a lot of fun.

The next shoots are at Bellevue, Centerline Gun Club near Battle Creek the end of May, then in Houghton Lake in June, back to Bellevue, then in Dundee near Cabelas the weekend before July 4. Back to Bellevue in July and August. Fenton in Sept and Lapeer in Oct. Here is the schedule for the rest of the year.

If you belong to a gun/shooting club and are interested in hosting a shoot let me know and I will pass it on. The Michigan crew is always looking for places around the state to make it easier to get too.

Here is a review on my website of the weekend I went to in March...
