Let me rephrase that.

When Obama wins re-election in 2012, what will that say to you about America.. and then, what will you do?

I don't think that is anywhere close to the inflammatory statements that are usually posted here..

Seriously.. if that happens, how will many of you react?

I'm really hoping a cold front blows in to clear out the muggy air.

There's nothing like that crisp, dry air after a spell of oppressive humidity.

Could have been articulated better in my OP. I apologize.

And that comment furthers your efforts to remove him from office.. how?

If even a tiny portion of the hate that is put forth on some of these board posts, was actually put towards honest political dialogue and action with your local politicians, you might actually see a change in office the next election cycle.

Just saying.

I read that the F5 tornado was on the ground for 200 miles. I saw a picture of a destroyed house where even the basement was gone. How is that possible?

And not 50 feet from the destroyed house was another house completely intact. Cars in the driveway and everything.

If you are going to pay that much to live in a crap-hole spend a bit more and live in the next state west with even better weather!

Well, we may agree on this me and you. This state is becoming a craphole thanks to the Democraps who are running the government all by themselves for the past 20 years. But let's see what their record is:

Illegal immigration out of control and sanctuary cities? - Check
Highest tax rates in the nation? - Check
Most expensive gasoline and electricity due to stupid green laws? - Check
Highest number of businesses migrating out of state? - Check
Highest rate of people on welfare? - Check
Most restrictive gun laws? - Check
Highest rate of unemployment in 50 states? - Check
First State to go bankrupt - Within the next 12-18 months ($25 billion in debt as of Jan. 2011) - Check

So my dear Flopper, your fellow Demonrats proved themselves and what they are capable of right here in the (former) Golden State. 20 (TWENTY) years they ran this state with no significant GOP opposition. They are solely responsible for all the fuggin' mess we're in. Yet it would be a swell idea to let them run the entire country, don't you think? Maybe them idiots will do better next time, now that they have Obama in the White House. :whistling:

I don't see any Republican who stands a chance. The Republican will be forced to accommodate far right extremist and that will drive Independents away. When that happened in 2005 I wrote in this forum that the far right would destroy the Conservative movement and the Republican party. As usual, I was shouted down by the extreme right so I watched in dismay as my prediction came true in 2007. It will happen again in the next election.

Don't be dismayed by the the childish reactions of some of the people here. They're in denial and consumed with group think. I really hope the Republicans are forced to nominate a Tea Party candidate. It will be the worst rout since George McGovern. This would force the Republicans to move back toward the center, where Ronald Reagan was. This will eventually force the Democrats to move toward the center where Bill Clinton was, and maybe then we can get a government that can govern.

OK, let me be the first to say it. Liberal, socialist, Ponzi Scheme, cut taxes, cut spending, and no one owes you anything. I'm sure there are some stereotypes, straw men, and buzz words I have left out, but I'm confident someone will fill in the blanks.

Sun is out and clear here in central Jersey.

We had Jim & Nick's last night. I got a whole rack of spare ribs. I ate half. I think I might re-heat the other half this afternoon.

Yep. They occassionally mention the possiblity of rain . . . again for this coming Monday, but I won't believe it till my feet are wet.

A co-worker of mine said it would rain Monday, he is pretty accurate, but I was outside earlier and almost melted.

Edit: And it is OK to quote yourself....

JFrame, you are right. Lori is a retired pastry chef so the 'eats' is good!! I got married very late in life so I know how a house should be kept.

Speaking of weather, I feel sorry for those of you that are getting dumped on. And in the South, my heart really goes out to those people.:crying:

Watch it on TV, or Lap top most likely. Or see the high lights of after depending what distractions are going on. He is not my first choice unless the Republicans find someone really bad. At which point I will probably vote third party anywise. It will be interesting to see. I think one of the biggest questions is who among the republicans will be the runner? The second question, what will the independents do, will they be left in no mans land by too parties going to the extremes, or will both parties candidates make a major, push towards being more moderate? Too many questions, to many variables to know, but it should be fun to watch.

I was takin' a trip out to L.A.
Toolin' along in my Cheverolet
Tokin' on a number and diggin' on the radio

Just as I crossed the Mississippi line
I heard that highway start to whine
And I knew that left rear tire was about to blow

Well the spare was flat and I got uptight
'Cause there wasn't a filling station in sight
So I just limped on down the shoulder on the rim

I went as far as I could and when I stopped the car
It was right in front of this little bar, a
Kind of a red-neck lookin' joint called the "Dew Drop Inn"

Well I stuffed my hair up under my hat
And told the bartender that I had a flat
And would he be kind enough to give me change for a one

Well there was one thing I was sure proud to see
There wasn't a soul in the place except for him and me and
He just looked disgusted and pointed toward the telephone

I called up the station down the road a ways and
He said he wasn't very busy today
And he could have somone out there in just about 10 minutes or so

He said," Now, you just stay right where yer at!"
And I didn't bother to tell the dern fool
That I sure as hell didn't have anyplace else to go

I ordered up a beer and sat down at the bar
When some guy walked in and said, "Who owns this car
With the peace sign, the mag wheels and the four on the floor?"

Well he looked at me and I damn near died
And I decided that I'd just wait outside
So I laid a dollar on the bar and headed for the door

Just when I thought I'd get outta there with my skin
These 5 big dudes come strollin' in
With this one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth

Now I was almost to the door when the biggest one
Said, "You tip your hat to this lady, son!"
And when I did, all that hair fell out from underneath

Now the last thing I wanted was to get into a fight
In Jackson Mississippi on a Saturday night
Especially when there was three of them and only one of me

They all started laughin' and I felt kinda sick
And I knew I better think of something pretty quick
So I just reached out and kicked old green teeth right in the knee

Now he let out a yell that'd curl yer hair
But before he could move I grabbed me a chair
And said "Now watch him Folks cause he's a furly dangerous man!"

"Well you may not know it but this man is a spy.
He's a undercover agent for the FBI
And he's been sent down here to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan!"

He was still bent over holdin' on to his knee
But everybody else was lookin' and listenin' to me
And I laid it on thicker and heavier as I went

I said "Would you believe this man has gone as far
As tearing Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars
And he voted for George McGovern for President."

"Well he's a friend of them long haired, hippy-type, pinko fags!
I betchya he's even got a commie flag
Tacked up on the wall inside of his garage."

"He's a snake in the grass, I tell ya guys
He may look dumb but that's just a disguise
He's a mastermind in the ways of espionage"

They all started lookin' real suspicious at him and
He jumped up and said "Now just wait a minute Jim!
You know he's lyin' I been livin' here all of my life!"

"I'm a faithful follower of Brother John Birch
And I belong to the Antioch Baptist Church.
And I ain't even got a garage, you can call home and ask my wife!"

Then he started saying somethin' 'bout the way I was dressed
But I didn't wait around to hear the rest
I was too busy movin' and hopin' I didn't run outta luck

And when I hit the door I was makin' tracks
And they were just taking my car down off the jacks
So I threw the man a twenty and jumped in and fired that mother up

Mario Andretti woulda sure been proud
Of the way I was movin' when I passed that crowd
Comin' out the door and headed toward me at a trot

And I guess I shoulda gone ahead and run
But somehow I just couldn't resist the fun
Of chasin' them all just once around the parking lot

Well they're headed for their car but I hit the gas and
Spun around and headed 'em off at the pass
I was slingin' gavel and puttin' a ton o' dust in the air

Well I had them all out there steppin' and fetchin'
Like their heads was on fire and their asses was catchin'
but I figgered I'd better go ahead and split before the cops got there

When I hit the road I was really wheelin'
Had gravel flyin' and rubber squeelin'
And I didn't slow down till I was almost to Arkansas

Well I think I'm gonna reroute my trip
I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped
If I went to L.A., via Omaha

If even a tiny portion of the hate that is put forth on some of these board posts, was actually put towards honest political dialogue and action with your local politicians, you might actually see a change in office the next election cycle.

Just saying.

You may be right. The Republicans still control the House and can continue being the party of no. If that happens, nothing will change. It looks like they would realize that they're swimming upstream.
