No free bore on LW .40 S&W barrel?

Why does the .40 S&W LW barrel not have some free bore ahead of the chamber.

This lack of free bore necessitates loading a .401 cast bullet less than the recommended OAL.

Over seating the bullet can cause excessive chamber pressures potentially causing head separation of the case and explosive results!

Seating your bullet to the lands produces the best accuarcy. Yes it can increase pressures however "if" you start with a reduced load and work it up you will not run into a pressure issue.
