I know quite a few of us are from Ohio...and I know you guys carry.

If you haven't already, I ask you all to please call/email to urge a pass of House Bill 45 and 54!

If you're unaware, 45 is to allow CCW in restaurants that serve alcohol. 54 is to protect Ohio citizens of their rights.

See more info, along with contact info here:

Done. How 45 has not been passed yet is ridiculous. Welcome to the 20th century, Ohio. :whistling:

Yea it's pretty dumb...that article said that 42 states, including EVERY single one that surrounds Ohio allows it. This is just stupid...

Can't wait to become an LEO and I won't have to worry about this crap anymore.

It's completely stupid. I don't drink when I carry, but if I walk into any restaurant with my wife and kids that serves, I do not have the right to protect them and have to leave it in the car? Idiotic.

We all know intelligence has NOTHING to do with gun laws. I never drink or smoke crack when I carry, and I carry all the time.

As I said before, I want options in Ohio other than GoldenCoral.

I think it has a real good chance of passing. We'll see. One of these days I need to get my carry permit.

Couple of suggestions:

Ask the restaurant owner where you spend your hard earned cash if they are a member of the ORA. If the answer is yes, politely tell them you are leaving due to their opposition to this bill.
Drive to Michigan like we do where you don't have to worry about such stupidity.
Totally amazing this still hasn't passed after the support it had last December.:steamed:

Ummm, I'd rather not drive 2 hours to an Applebee's (or whatever) just to eat while strapped...........then 2 hours home. :wavey:

I just don't eat out. EVER. Couple of times a year at most (at places that don't serve alcohol).

We never did either when our kids were still both at home. When the nest get's empty, you'll find more reasons to go out.....trust me on this one!

I eat out every day I work, for lunch...so this is a huge deal to me. I'm often not in my own car either, so I don't have my safe on me to store it.

the arguments against this are so dumb... just because you will be allowed to carry a gun into a bar or restaurant doesn't automatically mean you're going to shoot up the place. Just in the same way that because you're allowed to drive your car to a bar doesn't automatically mean you're going to get hammered and drive into oncoming traffic.

folks, Ohio politicians have never been the sharpest knives in the drawer.....thats why it takes so long and so much effort for logic and reason to sink in with the folks in Columbus.

Only problem, we Hoosier's can't legally carry in your state unless we have the Utah Permit. Work on that too please :crying:

Agree.......however I have a theory everyone can poke holes in. I don't know how your eating establishments are, but in NW Ohio, you wait in line to eat most nights......the business is healthy. Now, why would a restaurant owner want someone with a handgun occupying a table when instead they could seat someone else who they can serve alcohol to all night and send them on their way drunk, behind the wheel of something so safe as a car? Known fact, restaurants make most of their money on alcohol.....not on food. I blame the Ohio Restaurant Association equally for derailing this bill. They aren't worried about anyone's safety here....it's all about the money.:dunno:

Never amazes me how dumb some people actually are.

I love how all of the titles are "Ohio now allows gun in BARS" instead of like, "Ohio has finally stopped being retarded with their laws."

It's not even entirely about bars! Why don't they say, finally, Ohio residents can protect themselves while eating sunday lunch at Applebees?

From Ghost Busters:

Venkman: This city is about to face a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical?"
...
Venkman: Riots in the streets, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

It probably won't pass the Senate, seeing as all the news stations are all over this already, and there is a tremendous amount of people against it. All of whom have no idea of their stupidity.

The only thing people are focusing on are alcohol and bars. Everyone WILL go to bars with a gun, and WILL drink, and WILL shoot people. Duh!

It actually had already passed the Senate. Just waiting for them to figure out which version; Senate or House, to give to the Governor to sign into law.
