Ihad a couple with the XTM covers, but I sold the ARs. I really prefer the XTM covers.

Have you checked the tacked AR picture thread? XTM covers:

You should check out the larue index clips.

I like the XTM clip together type better and they are very modular. I bought different colors and built my jigsaw forend up to break up the outline more.

Get index clips.
Failing that, XTM's.
XT's are a pain to get on or off more than once.
You should check out the larue index clips.
I like em as well :wavey:

Another vote for Index clips, especially now that theyre being offered in more colors. Goes double if you use anything with a remote pressure pad, thanks to the hooks and feet on some of the clips to keep the cable in place.

Ladder covers on top/bottom, XTMs on sides. Feels great on the "oval" shape of the DD Omega X.

I typically prefer the ladders because they add the least weight.
I have various rail covers on different rifles but I also prefer ladders for the weight reduction. I also don't like the added circumference size that they generally add to a standard sized rail. They do however help with heat, but I tend to run an AFG and gloved hands under hard use anyway so I prefer the ladder set up.

+1 I like the feel of the ladder covers on the top and bottom, and XTMs on the sides.

I put ladders on the side and the xtm top and bottom so it doesn't add width. Top and bottom bulkiness is not an issue.
XTMs on sidea and bottom with ladders on top

My Bushmaster 5.56 has the Magpul MOE hand guard... I basically decided my NEXT AR would get a quad rail and more XTM covers, but my first 5.56 AR went all OD Green and a MOE Hand guard
