Mas, a friend (fellow shooter) and I hope to take the MAG-40 class in Harrisburg this September. We are both bringing Glocks. I have a 19 and he has a 17 and a 26. What has been your experience with failure on these pistols during courses such as yours. We are both "belt and suspenders" types, so the guns are used but well maintained.

Also, what about prepping for this type of course. We are both reasonably fit and @ 60 y.o. What about shooting practice in preparation? We both do some kind of shooting about once a week.

I hope we can attend. Been putting formal training off for a long time.

Thanks for your attention.

As you know, the Glock is uber-reliable, but anything made by man can fail. Never hurts to have spare gun/spare parts. Toss a spare trigger return spring in your kit.

The book "StressFire" and/or the video "StressFire Part I, Handgun" will give you a good idea before hand of what the live fire curriculum will look like in terms of stances, techniques, etc. It can be ordered from

Look forward to meeting you in Harrisburg!
