Hi,
I bought a mid 60's no dash jframe used (model 36 Nickel Plated in mint condition), it wouldnt set of the primers in double action mode, took it back to the gunshop/gunsmith that I bought it at, he placed a stronger spring in it (they warrant used sales), still not working consistently in double action, took off the grip and there is a rod and coil spring not a flat main spring, is this a variation on the way they were made? Im thinking of maybe sending back to SW to replace any internals with oem. IT would work sometimes in double action and set off all 5 rounds and then next time wouldnt, making me suspect something other than spring weight.
Any accurate info appreciated
thanks

The 36 was no dash till 1966. Both of my 36's have flat springs. I BELIEVE someone put a later J frame model spring in.

I did find online that some J frames have the coil spring some flat, thank you for the info, it is helpful educating myself prior to going back to the gunshop for a conversation, I think I will call SW first.
