I posted this on the XD Talk forum, but haven't had any response. Perhaps there aren't as many women on that forum as there appears to be here on GT, so I thought I'd post here, as well, in hopes that I get some suggestions.

I've read thread after thread to determine what would be the best holster for me to buy for my XDm 9mm 4.5. I see many threads outlining what works best for the guys, but I haven't seen much regarding what women are wearing.

I don't wear a belt - I don't even own one - so many of the holsters I see discussed won't work for me. My casual wear pants would allow for IWB carry, but I also usually wear shirts that would allow coverage for OWB carry. I've looked at the belly bands and the Smart Carry, and it seems like they would work, but, I haven't seen any reviews on them from women. I did just order a fanny pack, as I've carried a regular one for years when I'm walking, going to the mall, etc., so that will work fine in those situations. However, there are times that a fanny pack just isn't going to cut it, so I'll need something else.

So, without changing how I dress (meaning adding a belt) - what holster(s) would you suggest I check into? What do you use and why? Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks so much for the link to that thread! It's exactly what I'm looking for - I should be able to figure something out with all of that information.

I hope it helps. This guy is in MN and makes nice holsters if you're ever in the market.

Check out the youtube vid I posted in the sticky thread above "links for women". She goes through a whole host of holsters and tries them on with different outfits - very helpful.

I don't know if this site has been mentioned or not, but:

This is a site developed and ran by a woman shooter. She covers a lot of subjects.
