View Full Version : Adulterated Hollow Points
What are the laws as they apply to adulterating SD rounds - specifically hollow points - with expansive elements?
Not a term I've run across in court, bro. No problem with rounds like the Critical Defense from Hornady or the Pow'rBall from Cor-Bon which use a plastic insert in the hollow cavity to enable bullet expansion.
If you mean lead azide or other exploding bullet compounds, they're prohibited by law in some states, such as Florida. A prosecutor or plaintiff's lawyer would have a blast (pun intended) with a bullet filled with liquid mercury, garlic, or some of the other weird stuff you see on the movies and on the Internet.
I'd recommend top quality factory hollow points... "unadulterated."
