While looking at a Mil Spec, I got weak and bought a used, unfired SA Trophy Match, good cosmetically, near new mechanically, for $800 OTD.
I'm picking it up tomorrow.
Still probably getting the Mil Spec too.
The 1911 voices continue to call me. I don't want more of these - I just can't help it.

Is it really hard to work on a 1911 or is it pretty easy once you get the hang of it? I really wanna tinker with my RIA but scared to. I like to start off with changing out the Ambi safety for a single sided safety.

It's not difficult to replace most small parts, but expect, at some point, to need two when you over-fit the first one. :crying:

Did you get a copy of the Kuhnhausen manuals that Polizei was sharing? They aren't perfect but they can help a lot.

Not yet just hit him with a PM about it. Hmm thinking about trying it then switching out my Ambi safety for maybe one of these

Just curious but where did you get "unfired"?

The auction description just says:

PRICE REDUCED!!!! Springfield Armory Trophy Match .45 auto stainless steel semi auto pistol, good condition.

that's way older than mine. no FCS, they swapped the mag release, thumb safety, MSH, slide stop, grips and grip screws.

hard to believe that it's un-fired.

My error, typing while working. No definitely not unfired. Just described to me to be cosmetically good, mechanically functional as new.
So all those parts are no good?

Quack

no good for me. don't like the grips. don't like the arched MSH. don't like the extended slide stop. don't like the trigger. don't like the ambi.

but that's just me...

Are the parts not functional?

Got it last night. One ragged hole - chewed up the X ring at 15 yards.
150 rounds WWB - 100%.

Form follows function.
