What was the very first 1911 you ever shot? For me it was a Springfield Armory Loaded pistol. A friend from the gun club I was in let me shoot his:thumbsup:

Smith and Wesson 1911 E-Series its was a range beater but I don't know something felt right. If they would have offered to trade me for my Glock I been walking out with a 1911

I think it was one of the first generation Delta Elites that came out. I think I might have 10 or 11? Not too sure what my dad was thinking letting me shoot that thing.

Sadly, I didn't have my first 1911 until I was 20. It was a jamming POS that soured me on them for a while-until I bought my first fullsize from a little company that started making 1911's called Kimber. That's the first one I owned that's always worked 100%.

Para Ord P14. It worked fairly well with fmj, but wouldn't feed hollowpoints at all. Next was an even more finicky Colt Officer's model. I eventually traded them off and got a Les Baer Premier II. That was almost 10 years ago, and my Baer is still a tackdriver and has only ever had one malfunction.

Ditto, friend at the gun club let me shoot his. Mine was a Springfield, not 100% sure of the model, so I will have to ask. But it was in .40 cal. not .45

My Dad's Colt Combat Commander. It had a satin nickel finish to it, was real sweet looking. Sadly, it was a jam-o-matic POS and he finally dumped it about 15 years ago. Even though it jammed every 4 to 5th round, I really miss that 1911.

That would be the Series 70 Colt Gold Cup that by Dad bought new back in the day, and I own now.

The first handgun I ever fired was a .44 magnum when I was 5 years old.
While down loaded to .44 special strength, it still caused a swear word to be uttered out of my mouth. I also own that .44 magnum.

I think the first 1911 I shot was one of my older brothers, so it was either a colt 70 series or a charles daly. Most likely it was the charles daly because it has the ambi-safety, and I'm a lefty.

I think it was a Para Ordnance of some sort. I really did not like it, the trigger was very weird. I was around 16 years old.

The first real 1911 I shot was a Springfield several years latter.

first 1911? my dad's colt government model when i was about 10. he ended up doing a lot of work to it over the years. i liked to had a heart attack when he sold it. he could hit nickels at 15 yards with it, and just up and sold it.

a guy at the range let me shoot his Colt. Don't know what exact model, just basic and black. I stacked pretty much all the shots into one ragged hole and was instantly addicted. I've since bought quite a few but have settled on my Dan Wessons.
