10mm recoil springs which one?

Can you please explain the reasoning behind the different weight recoil springs for the G20 in particular. I run the LW long barrel with the stainless guide rod and a 17lb spring. I handload some fairly stout loads for it and want to make sure I am using the correct weight recoil spring with them. All the loads work great with the current set up but I am just wondering what advantage/benefit I might realize with a heavier spring and or do I need a heavy spring for safety purposes? Thx

Ideally you are looking for the ejected brass to land about 2 to 4 feet away from you. If it is rolling off your knuckles you have too much spring. If it is flying out these 10 feet you dont have enough spring
