Does anyone have any feedback on the Hornady Cam lock case trimmer. Midways reviews all say good things about it. I am starting to load 223 and this trimmer is high on my list to purchase. Any feedback would be great, thanks.

I use a Dillon RT1200 for size / trimming but If I had gone manual trimming for .223 the Horandy would have been my choice. High handle clearance, micrometer adjustment and very well reviewed cutter.

Thanks, yeah the reviews make it seem like a no brainer.

IF you plan to be trimming hundreds of cases for feeding the voracious appetite of an AR, you will quickly tire of a manual trimmer, or a manual trimmer on steroids (drill adapter). May I suggest you consider the Possum Hollow Kwick Trimmer and their drill attachment. This trimmer uses the shoulder datum for trimming, just like the Giraud. You can trim a case in seconds. Do a Google search - there are videos showing the ease and speed you can accomplish.

Now, if feeding a bolt .223, I also have a Wilson trimmer and really like the simplicity, holder that sits on the rail and keeps the case centered and ease of adjustment.

Thanks for the tip, yes this will be for an AR. I only shoot about 1500 or so a year.
