:wow: wow that finish looks like glass man congratulations that thing is beautiful
I carried a LW Commander in .38 Super thru the latter part of the 80s, and most of the 90s. Great guns and a great cartridge (if you hand-load), but unless things have changed factory loads were really limited!

+1 :wow:
Just a quick update on my purchase. I got a chance to take it to the range. I have several 1911s in 45acp and one in 9mm, in comparison this one is the best. I never thought I would ever say that. The 38 super round is really a perfect round for me. Very accurate, quick follow up shoots due to less recoil and carries 10+1, no bad.
Ammo, I was able to purchase some ammo at Cabelas. Not cheap, 27.00 a box, I did however find several spots on the net to purchase much cheaper (16.93 a box at Cheaper than dirt). After much research I have found the best defense load for me is sold by Wilson. Yeap you read correctly they are not only into custom 1911/ shotgun / leather / knives but ammo as well.
I have found what I was looking for a great lightweight 1911 in a very good caliber, that is fun to shoot, accurate, easy to carry, easy to shoot and looks good as well, looks like a win win here.

Fantastic colt, It looks like you are a happy camper. I have always wanted to try that caliber but couldn't find one to test drive first.

Wait a minute. You give the one dude crap for his 9mm Colt not being a .45, but this .38 Super one is "very nice"? Selective trolling? :dunno:

Nice finish on the pony. Contrasts nicely with the ivories and the red towel. Yes I'm jealous! Congrats!!!

Wilson ammo in .38 Super is what I carry most of the time, either in 115 or 124gr. It seems like good stuff :)

Congrats. I hear alot of good things about the .38 Super, aside from griping about ammo availability. Been thinking of trying one myself.

Ammo is somewhat hard to find in person but very easy on the internet :)
