View Full Version : Glock Trade!

Since this is still GlockTalk I thought the 1911 fans here would find a recent trade I made of interest. It involved a 2nd Gen Glock 22 with an after market barrel, some extra magazines and ammo for which I got this in return:

http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww224/desertarcher/1911s/IMG_0558.jpg

It's a Dan Wesson Pointman 7 in 45 ACP. I have another Dan Wesson, a much earlier (pre-CZ) in 10mm that I like and this one was too much to pass up. I've shot it before as the owner and I shoot together so I didn't need to test fire it. It has a great trigger, clean, little creep and about 4-1/2 #. If I can take the heat (around 100 or a bit more) tomorrow afternoon I'll take it to the range to sight it in with my Ball duplicate handload. Other than that it's pretty much ready to go. If my wife takes to it, it could end up hers. She doesn't have a full size 1911 right now and she's always preferred shooting them to her Kimbers (Stainless Covert Compact and a alloy Ultra).

Read the business card. It's a group of guys on TOS who own DW's. They even have their own website, business cards, T-shirts, and according to Hokie, hats.

I poke fun at them for the acronym, but they are a group of like minded fellas who are no different than anyone here.

Hokie1911

Actually they are good guys. They organize shoots and look out for other members beyond what a normal forum would function. We just goof on them because they tend to take it to the extreme, having business cards made up.

They do in fact have hats...

You did well on that deal. I've always liked the clean looks of the Pointman and Dan Wesson in general.

I was going to ask how one goes about joining the Congress but things got a little off subject. If anyone knows, and remembers the original subject (LOL), let me know. I probably need to join them.

Cool, how did it go? I'm in the west valley and often head over towards your side of the valley (Chandler/Tempe). Where do you shoot at?

Dave T

Gekko,

Outing went well and I got it sighted in. I fear it probably shoots better than my aging eyes can see so I won't say anything about group size, just that it shot as well as I can expect to these days.

My range of choice is Rio Salado since it sets at the NE corner of Mesa. I don't much like indoor ranges unless forced into it. Too crowded, too loud and too many rules. Not that I don't understand most of the rules, just don't need to be treated like a beginner or an idiot at my age...which is getting to be old and cranky! (LOL)

Dave

 I don't care much for the indoor ranges either. I will go to one every once in awhile during the afternoon in the summer if I have to work in the morning. Other than that , I usually drive up to Ben Avery.
