well got it re-finished cus of some rust issue i had (user error) and i just got it back, per the finishers advice to not fire it for another couple weeks to let the finish "cure" completely, and im not the one to risk it so i will wait
the pistol also got what the smith calls a "reliability package which consist of polishin a couple of things internally

Sounds to me like you had duracoat applied. Definitely follow the 3 week cure time advice! When we were using duracoat, we wouldnt give the customer their gun back until the 3 weeks was up so we could guarantee they wouldnt shoot it. You might want to tell whoever did your gun, that you CAN bake duracoat, just like KG and NIC at a lower temp for a shorter time and skip the cure time and the DC becomes much more durable imo then air curing

Looks great. Nice 1911, I know there are some Kimber bashers (and Lord knows Kimber brings some of that on themselves) but I still think well of their guns. I still really really would like a Gold Combat from them one day :)

DuraCoat

Looks good.

I stopped offering Duracoat because of curing time is a bit of a draw back.
