I'll have to post a pic from the grips I won from Sarge! Can't wait to see them!
Beautiful Mark!
Thanks Brian, Sarge does great work. :)

Yes he does
This is about the comment I made the other day isn't it. How humiliating. I need to keep my electronic "mouth" shut. :D It was supposed to be funny. Sorry if it was taken any other way than that. ;)

There was a thread about grips and I made a smart*** comment. I usually pass those threads by as I don't want to be seen to be promoting my grips inappropriately, but I made an error in judgement and attempted to be humorous. Something I fail at miserably with an alarming regularity. ;) Anyway, I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers, it surely wasn't my intent.

Ryan, knowing Greg....I'm pretty sure he didn't take you seriously. He's just buttering you up so he can get a discount.

Ok,.......what the heck did I miss? :wow:
A while back I received a set of Ivory micarta grips from Sarge for my KC.
Been thinking about a set for my, soon to be mine, Delta Elite.
Ryan, knowing Greg....I'm pretty sure he didn't take you seriously. He's just buttering you up so he can get a discount.
So,.......you're saying I'm a cheap-skate?! :honkie:
Just wanting to see recent examples of Sarge's work.

Oh,........that makes sense then.
Sounds like Sarge needs to get to checkering grips.
Ryan's grips and CBOBs go together like peanut butter and jelly.
VBOBs too!
Two differences between Sarge's work and the others:
Sarge's grips taper right to the edges of the front and back strap.
Dan Wesson's first bobtailed Valor. Note the gap:
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2/Davis1950/Weapons/1911/Marks%20Valor/Grip03.jpg
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2/Davis1950/Weapons/1911/Marks%20Valor/Grip07.jpg
In my case he "puffed up" the palm (swells) that I like so much with KN Nill grips on my single stack Sigs. In that my Valor was the first one that was bobtailed, he didn't have a copycat template to use other than the Dan Wesson ones that I sent to him from which to emulate and extrapolate his cut, fit and finish.

My Dan Wesson Valor is now wearing smooth gaboon ebony grips by Sarge, hence my new Avatar.
Gentlemen, all I can say is thank you. I am very glad that you like the grips. I'm a very blessed and happy man to be able to do for a living, something that I love to do so much. Each special order is a fun challenge and my heart rate still goes up when I see the results - the beauty of nature is breathtaking in my opinion. It's my passion. I thank you all for being the ones that allow me to do this.

Speaking of which, his website isn't listed in the "Official GT 1911 FAQ and Resource Thread".
What's up with that? :dunno:

Said it before and will say it again...Mark's Valor and Wade's Heritage are hands down the sexiest DWs ever. Wade's 9mm VBOB is a close third.

I wish you guys would stop posting pics or else I might have to get a new set of grips for the No Name
Before this thread goes the way of all threads when they've run their course, I just want to officially thank faawrenchbndr for starting this thread. It really gives me a rush to see people enjoying the beauty of the materials that nature provides, and to be able to see your work in a thread like this and the positive comments on it is a real boost.
So, faawrenchbndr - THANK YOU!

Ya REALLY need to start checkering,......plEEEASe!
I have no clue how to checker, so that might be a tall order! Stippling is about as close as I'll get for the foreseeable future. :treadmill:

You should have your crusty thumb looked at.
Yeah, I was wet sanding grips in the shop right before making that, and it doesn't wash off very easily once it's dry. Either that, or I'm a leper and the doc is just afraid to tell me. :dunno:
